Nathaniel Wolkstein

“During the period of 2013-2017, Nathaniel Wolkstein performed frequently as a co-concertmaster of the New World Symphony based in Miami, Florida. In that role, Nathaniel demonstrated his outstanding musicality and expertise performing in many musical styles in a variety of concert settings. In addition to an orchestral violinist, he performed as a soloist and chamber musician in musical repertoire both classical and popular spanning the past four centuries.

Over the years, Nathaniel shared with me some of his original compositions and recordings. I found those pieces to be moving, inventive and consistently exhibiting a talented musical sensitivity. Due to his leadership and innate musicality, I selected him to be concertmaster for a program of my own symphonic compositions. I also chose Nathaniel to be a featured violin soloist for a significant fundraising concert for the New World Symphony. I strongly recommend him as a violinist and musician, as well as being a thoughtful, insightful and creative individual. Nathaniel has my highest recommendation."

“In my capacity as President for Sony/ATV Music Publishing - Latin America and U.S. Latin, I have extensive experience in the world of popular music and performance. As a classical pianist and composer I also have wide-ranging experience with the world of classical music and performance. Over a period of three years, I had the opportunity to get to know Nathaniel Wolkstein as a violin concertmaster with the New World Symphony in Miami as well as a composer/songwriter in both classical and popular styles. As concertmaster, he was a strong and natural leader, with virtuosic violin skills, which were impressive in both classical and non-classical contexts. As a popular composer and arranger he was a versatile and expressive artist, with an ear for catchy melodies and arrangements.

I asked Nathaniel to perform on one of my own compositions for a recording. Nathaniel not only was an outstanding violinist and fully prepared for the session, but was also a sensitive collaborator with the other musicians in the ensemble. I was delighted with the professional quality of his playing in that recording session, as well as his leadership throughout the recording process.

Overall, I find Nathaniel to be an outstanding, creative violinist and talented composer who delivers excellent musical results. I have no hesitation in recommending him fully, without reservation.”

“Working with Nathaniel is effective, efficient and a pleasure. I do believe he was the right person for a project whose scope he understood since day one, and I do not say that lightly. We really appreciate Nathaniel’s innate talent as a musician, and his patience and proactive attitude during a time our team was being pulled in many different directions. Furthermore, he was able to assist with other projects, and was always on point. He has a passion for bringing his music to informal educations settings.
